Phoenix Child Welfare Food Chain
A super busy day so far. Thank you to Phoenix Child Welfare for the kind donation of food hampers which all went to the crèche in Bhambayi for distribution to the desperate community members. Hunger is a real problem at the moment. You can help the by creating a Food Chain (https://www.foodchainubuntuarmy.org/) with someone you know. The hampers don’t need to be extravagant. The starving are grateful for anything.

And this is what a Food Chain looks like. Food donated by Phoenix Child Welfare to Bhambayi Project delivered to our community contact, Sne by Ubuntu Army and then distributed to the needy by Sne and her team. Anyone interested in creating their own Food Chain should check out https://www.ubuntuarmy.org/foodchain. Food hampers can vary in cost from R50 - R350. Whatever you can manage to organize. Ubuntu Army will assist you with the distribution. Check out Food Hampers here

Mask Machine - Leslie
Another consignment of beautifully made masks from the (not so much anymore) anonymous mysterious golden sticker seamstress, Leslie. Thanks you so much for these masks. They are amazing! In picture is the big red bin on the verge (actually driveway). For any drop offs, please deposit in the bin and give a hoot before you leave.

Mask Machine - Elizabeth
Hello Clint and Shelley.
Thank you for the material I received.
I have 50 marks ready for distribution.
There us still some material left and I will have it ready for next week.

Honor
What choice will you make?
This is a really tough time. In it we all have to choose who we are fighting for- ourselves or humanity. We show what we are really made of in this choice. In the stress and uncertainty, let’s choose to treat others with honour and live with kindness, integrity and an open palm.
Yesterday I celebrated that some people were finally paid their March salary owed to them- but why did it need someone ‘powerful’ fighting for the voice of the powerless?
Department of Social Development at grassroots is on the agenda today- underpaying a Bhambayi preschool already not receiving any school fees meaning the 10 staff couldn’t get paid. But I also know of non-health essential workers striking- demanding extra pay at having to work in lockdown- of already stretched employers. I am sure you could add to the list.
But, friends, it starts with us.
What choices did we make yesterday that gave dignity and life?
What choices will we make today?
Let’s honour God by honouring the people that He has brought into our life.
Thank you to all who are doing this already in so many amazing ways!
